Skip The Crowds On Black Friday And Shop On The Internet On Cyber Monday

by Hank Coleman

Consumer Reports estimates that 25% of all Christmas shoppers will be out looking for deals on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Black Friday is traditionally the day of the year when retailers transition from the red (losing money) to the black (making a profit).  But, you do not have to fight the crowds on Friday morning or get up at 4am to find some of the best deals of the year.

For internet shoppers, Cyber Monday, the first Monday after Black Friday has become the traditional day of the year that online merchants bring out their best deals of the year.  And, it is a wonderful alternative for those of us who want to sleep in or not bother with the mall crowds.  In 2007, online businesses raked in $730 million in sales on the Monday after Thanksgiving, and they are looking for an even better year this year despite the sluggish economy.  That means that there are some great deals for you out there!

Visit CyberMonday.com, a portal of over 500 online stores that is offered by the National Retail Federation, to see some of the best deals the internet are offering this week.  You can also find a lot of incredible deals and sneak previews of companies’ advertisements on Dealnews.com.
